Pampered Pooches and Luxury Accommodation

Updated: Aug 9, 2020

At Woodlands Park Resort we pride ourselves that we are not merely dog friendly instead we welcome dogs. We understand that your dogs are part of your family so you will want to bring them with you when you escape to Wales for a long weekend or a week away. Gone are the days when you had to leave them in kennels.

Say hello to your perfect ‘Dogcation’…

Taking a ‘dogcation’ means taking your dogs with you and enjoying a holiday or a well earnt break with them too. Having dogs ourselves we understand how hard it is to leave them at home for just a few hours. Now you don’t have to. Pack them a suitcase because they can come too.

Our holiday home owners and our holidays guests can bring up to 3 well behaved dogs to their accommodation. If you have booked a holiday with Escape 2 Wales they will love their own personal welcome pack offering two china dogs bowls for each dog, a selection of tasty dog treats, throws for the sofa, some emergency doggy bags and a tennis ball just for fun too. There’s even a metal engraved holiday tag for each dog just in case they get lost with a 24/7 emergency contact number to get them back to you safely. The majority of their hand picked holiday home and lodge accommodations also have enclosed and gated decking areas giving your dogs freedom with added safety. So you can sit back and relax knowing that your dogs are enjoying the paw-fect holiday too!

For the ultimate in pampering you can even book your dog a bath or a full groom with Merryn’s Mucky Mutts our wonderful local dog groomer who visits the park every week. Now that is a Dogcation!

Fancy a bite to eat or drink before dinner? Woodlands Clubhouse welcomes dogs too and they even have their own designated seating area inside the Clubhouse and in the warmer weather enjoy the patio area and watch the world go by. Forgotten to bring those essentials with you? Woody’s Convenience Store is open everyday so if you need dog treats, food, doggy bags and even dog toys you can pop in whilst you are here.

Here on the park both Woodlands Park Drive and Tudor Place Drive are tarmac so you can enjoy a pleasant early morning & late evening stroll. Directly accessible from the park is a Woodland Walk taking you through the beautiful woodland owned and managed by the Woodlands Trust. Let your dogs off the lead and amble through the woodlands, following the meandering river as you make your way up to the village of Llanarth. Cei Bach beach is reached by a gentle stroll through the leafy country lanes and welcomes dogs all year round.

In fact there are so many beaches surrounding us that welcome dogs you will want to explore them including our award winning blue flag beaches and rugged coastal paths. There are so many Days Out on offer that welcome dogs too. Ride the Steam Train from Aberystwth to Devils Bridge and take the open carriage to really experience the breathtaking scenery of the Vale of Rheidol. For all you hearty sea dogs why not take a boat trip and go dolphin spotting – well behaved dogs are welcome too. Or how about a gentle meander around our many castles, National Trust heritage attractions and an abundance of days out in Ceredigion. Let the Dogcation commence!
